Web logs, i.e. blogs, have been used to share links, news, information, personal events, photos, music, and so on. Wikipedia describes a blog thus:

Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs.

Blogs concerning art (sometimes “artlogs”) usually act as portfolio sites, or art criticism sites. I am interested in the blog itself as an art piece. Just as On Kawara created conceptual works confirming his continued existence, I am interested in the use of the blog as a document of life and reflection. My visual works focus on personal spaces. This piece takes this work farther by including written words, personal reactions, and multi-media. It may cross into the kitsch, the cliché, and the mundane, but so does much of contemporary art.

Here 2 Indiana, Web-based art, December 18, 2007 - May 26, 2009

“Here 2 Indiana” is a piece concerning culture shock, the search for the natural and nature, travel, consumerism and technology. It overlaps the artist’s migration from a metropolitan area to a rural area.

This piece is not longer active and is archived. It will remain in the context of a blog, to be found accidentally through the blog website software. Unlike most art, this piece has a ‘commentary’ section where viewers can post responses.

Streamin' Dreamin', Web-based art, June 6, 2009 - ongoing

“Streamin' Dreamin'” is a piece concerning travel. It continues my interest in the search for the natural and nature, travel, consumerism and technolog, as well as my interests in migration.
