These images are my response to some of the Lilly Library collections I've had the opportunity to work with. Each is a monochrome portrait of a person important in the collections, tinted in warm tones, and flattened against a color-inverse of a sampling of documents relative to that person. The yellowish tone of the primary documents is digitally inverted, creating a cyan negative, recalling historic processes of cyanotypes and mimeographs.
